PROMISE KEPT:

• Advocated to suspend the Purple Lounge’s Alcohol License and to increase police presence in the area.

• Collaborated with Columbia Pike Neighborhoods and Delegate Alfonso Lopez (D-HD49) to successfully introduce legislation (HB2131) to empower local governments when dealing with commercial blight and dangerous businesses. Legislation was passed and will be effective as of July 1, 2021.

• Supported the deployment of ACPD to assist the Metropolitan Police to protect the US Capitol during the insurrection of January 6, 2021.

• Actively supported the community-driven effort to count 99.98% of Arlington residents in the 2020 Census.

• Voted for Arlington to join a lawsuit against former President Trump’s order to exclude undocumented immigrants from the 2020 Census.

KEY VOTES

• Voted not to increase real estate property taxes in 2021, citing the toll the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is taking on residents.
